We all love the sunshine, barbecues, and pool parties that summer brings. But long hot days, humidity, and chlorine can wreak just as much havoc on your tesses as your Chi flat irons. This means it’s time to step up your game to keep your hair in tip top shape. To keep dry frizzy ends at bay, here are some tips from the pros to keep your strands healthy and in good condition until September.

1. Kiss Heat Goodbye

If you normally use curling irons or blow dryers to achieve certain styles, its time to dial it back a notch and give your hair a break during the summer months. This summer, it’s all about letting your hair air dry. This means, it’s time to say so long to that press and curl or blow out. You need to be rocking a twist out, a ponytail or a bun to keep dry brittle ends to a minimum. 2 Deep Condition

This summer it’s going to be all about deep conditioning. If you can, try to deep condition at least once a week. For extra moisture, apply a tgin’s Honey Miracle Hair Mask to damp hair and cover with a shower cap or plastic wrap after shampooing and conditioning. You can leave it in your hair from any where between 10 minutes and 1 hour for extra moisture and deep conditioning.

3. Keep Your Ends Moisturized

When applied to your ends, coconut oil will help to keep your strands soft and moisturized. Jojoba oil also works wonders on frizzy hair and will help to minimize split ends. A light natural oil such as Tgin’s Argan Replenishing Hair and Body Serum can also be utilized as a pre-shampoo treatment or applied to dry strands for protection during the day. 4. Cover Up

When you find yourself out in the sun for long period of times, at the beach or chilling poolside, reach for a hat to keep your tresses protected from sun exposure.

5.Keep it Trimmed

Split ends can be especially problematic during the summer months. Trimming your ends on a regular basis during the summer months (every 6-8 weeks), can help to minimize breakage, dryness and frizzies. It will also help to keep your styles, especially your twistouts and fro, looking their best.

6.Slather on a leave in conditioner before taking a dip

A leave in will go a long way to protecting your hair, by as acting as a barrier, which minimizes the chemicals number of -chemicals that seep in through the openings in your cuticle. For a leave in that won’t let you down, try tgin’s Daily Butter Cream

7.Use a UV protectant spray prior to and during sun exposure

Remember to pack your SPF in your bag before hitting the beach and apply a small amount to your hair to prevent your hair from drying out. This is especially true for those of you with color or highlights, who are looking to keep your color in tact
