There is nothing worse than having a bad hair day or week while you are supposed to be having the time of your life! I mean who really wants to spend hours trying to tame their hair while on vacation – or even worse having to take pictures with hair that simply won’t behave. If you’ve ever had a vacation hair meltdown or have no clue how to keep your hair maintained while out of town, keep reading.

1.Be Prepared

In order to prevent any natural hair beach meltdowns, you must be prepared. Make sure you have all of the essentials with you, or make sure you are able to purchase any products you might need before hand. If you are choosing to wear your hair out instead of in braids or twists make sure to have hair bands, bobbi pins and the products you need to keep your hair in tip top shape. If you are wearing your curls out and need a bit of extra moisture fill a small plastic bottle with water so you can spritz your hair when needed. Buy small plastic containers to put your favorite tgin products in so you don’t have to worry about any issues on the plane.

2. Decide on the Best Hairstyle for you

To avoid any vacation mishaps or added stress, it’s best to already have your hair styled before you go on vacation. If you choose to wear your hair in a weave opt for curly hair with little leave out. If you plan on being in the sun or swimming. Curly sew-ins when when cared for properly can be a great style to rock when on vacation. Another extremely low maintenance style is braids. Braids can withstand all different types of weather conditions and you still come out looking fabulous! Wearing your natural hair out is another great option you just have to be sure to have all of your staple products on hand.

3. Grab a Hat, Scarf and Pina Colada

Turbans are a beautiful style to wear and are perfect for rocking when on vacay. Turbans and hats can definitely camouflage a bad hair day or keep your hair protected while in the sun. Be sure to pack an oversized hat and scarf for those moments where you simply can not be bothered to style your hair!

4. Relax and Let Go!

Big sunglasses – check, oversized hat – check, favorite tgin products –check! Ok great you have everything you need! As long as you are prepared with you hair maintenance items you need not stress over your hair! Vacations are a time for relaxation not worry! Take the time to enjoy your vacation and try not to worry about your hair! Trust me you will still be able to do a deep condition with you get home to wash away all the sand. Just be sure to enjoy yourself!

How will you be rocking your hair on your next vacation?
