Thank you. That micspam limit should make some things a bit easier. ;)

Micspam was kinda what made our servers special. I dunno why this change was implemented if we have mods making sure people don't spam too much. We've been getting muted just for playing music (that is, halfway through one song people get muted)

The problem we've been having is when more than one person micspams, and the automute doesn't do much for that as far as we've seen.

Currently reviewing the mirrored maps and a couple of the pro ones crimbo suggested, if they work out may have them up tonight. Plus one I had my eye on.

I enjoy the whining when mic spam is limited, weeding out trolls is fun :D

I used HLDJ myself, but every time you log on to a server, its nothing but crap music, horrible quality or something not even remotely MLP related. For some reason people can't seem to use a decent converter and its all staticy and they wonder why they get muted....It's temporary of course, but were using it to weed out the mic spamming trolls.

I'm sorry, but getting cutoff in the middle of the first song played is not a workable solution in terms of micspam control. There will simply be no micspam and it is, for all intents and purposes, a ban on the practice.

furthermore, as Ronbo mentioned, it does nothing to stop the most annoying of practices, simultaneous spammers. really all it does is penalize the folks who like to use half life DJ to, well, DJ.

Playing today was boring and too quiet thanks to this. if it is not changed to, at the very least, a more reasonable time limit, I don't really see the point in returning. and i know i'm not the only person who will likely not log back in.

Though i do not agree with some of what you said, i DO agree that chainspamming soundclips is still an annoying thing to do.

EDIT: Damnit, sorry for double post, meant for this to be in my original post.

I'd say we have Mods for this reason, to keep the trolls/bad DJ's/staticy people out. Automating the practice will shut down decent DJ's as well, and doesn't affect the simultaneous spamming. I understand it's temporary, but this is a bit strict.

Mods have lives too. Our what, seven mods? Anyway, they cannot be bothered to be on all six of our servers at all times.

And there's the answer. As much as I would like to be able to keep an eye on the servers at all times and keep them in check, I can't. The limit is necessary for when we're not around.

Is there a way to give players a special "DJ status" so they can bypass the limit as long as there is a set of rules they follow? If we had DJs that played pony related music, a decent break between each song, and good quality I don't think the community would mind much.

EDIT: Touched up a bit.

Man this is a great day, one of the most irritating people wants to leave. Trust me, nobody will stop you. In fact if you want some help packing your bags, let any of the admins or mods know, we'll help you out.
